The Wedding Forecast by Nina Kenwood

Anna isn’t looking forward to her best friend's wedding. Her ex is the best man, and he’s there with his new girlfriend, who is pregnant – despite claiming he didn’t want children. Reeling from the pregnancy bombshell, Anna needs a distraction to get through the weekend, and everyone thinks the wedding photographer would be perfect for her. He does seem perfect, but actor Mac, who has flown in from New York, complicates things with his easy charm. But what hope is there for a romance when he lives in another country? Besides, Anna has to concentrate on getting her life in order. She has just turned thirty, and while she has published her first novel, she is stuck in a job she doesn’t like, and she’s not very happy with how her life is turning out.

The best part of this novel is the characters; they are very well drawn, from the central protagonist, Anna, to her best friend, Hayley and her husband-to-be, Luke. Anna and Hayley's mothers are standouts, warm comic characters to fall in love with.

The Wedding Forecast is a charming, big-hearted rom-com, and I’m looking forward to reading more novels by this talented author. Her voice is fresh and engaging.
