This collection of tried-and-true recipes from 30 home bakers, pastry chefs and small bakeries is a delight! Each baker has a profile along with their favourite recipes, including morning and afternoon teas, special occasions, savoury treats and desserts.


Stand-out recipes in our household include:


  • Marshmallow Brownies. These are by Orlando Artavilla and adapted from a New York friend. The dark chocolate base with the fluffy marshmallow topping works a treat!

  • Miss Trixie’s Honey Joy Slice. This recipe by Alice Bennett and is a slice to take to any kid’s party.

  • Beetroot and Apple Cake with Wattleseed Icing. Jo Barrett has created this recipe, which has an earthy and moist texture.

  • Ginger and Orange Blossom Cake by Gillian Bell is a delightful cake for its taste and fragrance.

  • Inception Cake. This decadent chocolate cake by Rosemary Andrews is next level rich deliciousness.

  • For something savoury, Danielle Alvarez has created a superb spinach, leek and smoked cheddar cheese slab pie.

  • And to finish up for dessert, the Lemon Tart by Audrey Allard is just divine.


This volume is beautifully presented and wonderfully diverse.
