There is nothing quite like the anticipation of opening a gorgeous hard-covered book and The After-Hours Stylist doesn’t disappoint!
A love of nature and a need to celebrate what each season offers is at the heart of Kate Williams’ creative talent. Stylist Kate Williams has partnered with photographer Anna McLeod to publish a stunning book filled with hundreds of beautiful photographs. The After-Hours Stylist is a visual feast, full of recipes, crafts and inspirational ideas.
Kate shows you how to repurpose, think creatively and cultivate simple elegance at home. She shows you how to arrange, cook, create and enjoy each season. From hosting a woodland tea party, propagating dahlia seeds to arranging foliage and styling with ice (yes, there’s even a step by step guide to making an ice bowl)!
There’s recipes for tropical smoothie bowls, jellies, rustic apple pie, raspberry chia puddings, hot cross buns and more. A gorgeously whimsical first birthday is included, plus a picnic at the beach and food at the bach. There’s a chapter for each season, however the final chapter showcases Christmas, like you’ve never seen before. This is the ultimate coffee table book!
“Creating, styling and designing give me so much pleasure and I’m excited to bring my passions for food and flowers, fabric and foraging into one place,” says Kate Williams.
“This is a book that celebrates some of my after-work activities, such as floral and foraging workshops, maintaining flower beds and orchard, and hosting large gatherings and charity tours at our property in Canterbury,” she says.
Kate says she values every one of those minutes, whether it is creating, spending time with family or adventuring. Creating memories and traditions throughout life helps contribute to a greater sense of belonging, she says.
Kate Williams was born in Canterbury and raised in Ashburton. She has always enjoyed creating, foraging, painting, photographing and finding unique ways to accentuate beauty in everyday moments. This passion led to a career as a stylist and designer which she now pursues ‘after hours’ around her full-time job as a general manager for a law firm. Anna McLeod is a New Zealand interior and lifestyle photographer. Her work has featured in numerous magazines and publications. Follow Kate Williams and Anna McLeod online.
