Seriously Delicious by Polly Markus

The second cookbook from this talented Auckland foodie has more than 70 mouth-watering recipes that will be your new go-to for entertaining or weeknight meals. Polly Markus loves to add punchy flavours to her dishes, which makes her food flavourful and fun. Her recipes are easy to follow, and the results are impressive. The desserts are a standout too, just the right side of decadent.

I’m a big fan of the following recipes:

Ceviche with Mango and Avocado – perfect summertime fare, but Polly has convinced me it will work well in winter too!

  • Mediterranean Za’atar Eggplant Salad – I agree with Polly that it would be easy to have this as a meal on its own. Superb!

  • Roasted Beets with Preserved Lemon Yoghurt – the sweetness of the beetroot is perfectly complimented by the zesty lemon yoghurt.

  • Miso Butter Pumpkin & Leek Pasta – Polly adds a bit of heat with optional chilli flakes.

  • Cajun Spiced Fish with Fresh Green Slaw – such a dream combination!

  • Red Curry Chicken & Peanut Rice Bake – an easy one-pan dish full of flavour.

  • Crispy Pork Belly Tacos with Charred Pineapple Salsa – the pineapple is the star of this dish in my opinion.

  • Hazelnut Chocolate Tart with Raspberries – taste perfection.

I’d highly recommend this attractive cookbook. The recipes are superb and the photography is colourful and fun.
