I am a big fan of David Walliam’s books. I really enjoyed Awful Auntie and Ratburger in the past, and his new book FING is just as funny!
In his new book, Mr and Mrs Meek will do anything to keep their darling daughter Myrtle happy. She has everything she could want, but she still wants more, more, MORE! But then Myrtle declares she wants a FING, and that sets the parents on a crazy quest to find this rare creature.
At first the parents don’t know what a FING is. They learn about FINGs in a book in the basement of the library, but it’s not a creature you should have as a pet, so it ends up being a funny disaster when they end up with not just one, but two FINGS! This happens after dad goes to the far-off jungle to find a FING, but mum finds one at the local pet store by the time he comes back months later.
I think it is an incredibly funny story. And it has a good message about not being greedy! It’s also got really cool illustrations throughout the book.
